Frequency of Exercise

The number of times individual workout sessions are performed within larger training cycles.

Daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly cycles, often part of a periodized training system contain numerous workouts arranged to effect a particular result--for instance adding 50 pounds to your 1RM squat in 8 weeks, or dropping perhaps 5 pounds of bodyfat in just a few weeks. Workout frequency may range from two to three sessions daily to two sessions per week, and myriad combinations in between.
